Early on in my practice as a chiropractor in treating the biomechanical and nutritional imbalances it became obvious to me that the emotional issue interfering with them getting well needed a practical solution in order to really address the whole person in their quest to feel good and once again do what they love.
In the last blog I talked about how emotions interfere with the resolution of structural and chemical stressors that affect homeostasis.
Now, let’s look at emotions and how they get stuck in an unresolved loop.
We are a conscious being, aware of the thoughts and emotions which lie within that awareness. That is what meditation is all about, bringing us back to that functioning state which is just being a witness.
What are we witnessing? First our thoughts and emotions and then what follows are chemical and structural changes that respond to the way we think, feel and the life choices we make in response.
So, what influences our thought patterns and the emotions that are connected to them?
It is our belief system which lies deep within our subconscious mind which was passed on genetically and continues to be programed by our past and present life encounters.
Life’s encounters or situations that elicit the fight or flight response cause the
fixation of our breath originating from something heard, seen, felt, or imagined.
When I discovered this and attempted different clinical procedures to resolve the patient’s emotional issue, I further uncovered the neurology that connects our breathing to the perceived threat resulting in a sympathetic response.
It became apparent that when we hold our breath in response to a stressful situation whether imagined or real, we lock in the emotion that keeps us stuck. This prevents us from moving forward with our health or our life goals that bring us joy.
25 years ago, I was able to unlock the key to releasing emotions in a peaceful way, in a matter of minutes. The key lies in first discovering the source of stress, by accessing the neurological pathways connected to the cause, releasing that breath, and resetting the neurology to a state of inner peace.
In the last couple of years, I began teaching this technique to a number of practitioners who now have a very reproducible clinical tool to help their patients take their health and life style to the next level.

Dr De Palma, last year you taught me how to do the “Emotional Breathing Release Technique”. I immediately incorporated it into my client examinations, and I’ve been using it ever since. Everyone loves it! So much so, that I’ve had clients admit if they have to wait for an appointment with me, they will tap the top of their own head trying to recreate the effect. It’s a great tool!

Most of my patients do not handle their emotional stress well. Emotions get trapped into our breathing patterns, the subconscious and people don’t know how to release their stress. This leads to a loss of inner peace and a constant anxiety that manifests as health challenges. Performing the Emotional Release Breathing Technique that Dr. Lou has created helps me to release my patient’s emotional stress, clears or resets their subconscious and helps people to regain their inner peace again. When the inner peace is restored, the body can get back into balance, become strong again and health challenges improve. The Emotional Breathing Release Technique is profound, simple, easy to perform, works very well and very quickly for people. Thank you, Dr. Lou for this wonderful technique that balances out my practice and gets me greater results with my patients. Great stuff.

I have been a practitioner for over 20 years, and in my practice, I’ve used many techniques. I like this one because it’s fast, simple and gets noticeable results. Before my client’s leave my office, they already know that they’re healing. WE all have patterns, physical patterns, belief patterns, emotional patterns, etc. This system covers them all because it is working on the levels of the unconscious, the subconscious and the conscious mind. It incorporates the eyes, the breath, acupoints, auditory and visualization. I love seeing the shifts on my pre and post reflex exams when I use this method. This technique gives my clients confidence, not only in me, but in their own ability to heal.

The Emotional Breathing Release Technique is for anyone who has experienced emotional pain, trauma or frustration that feels hard to resolve. This technique has a specific way of discovering past experiences that are keeping the body stuck in old patterns and gives clients the opportunity to let them go. Utilizing breathwork, this technique releases unresolved negative emotions and limiting belief systems that may have been there for a long time or shown up recently. As a naturopathic doctor, I know first-hand how unresolved emotions can have a profound impact on overall well-being. However, prior to learning The Emotional Breathing Release Technique, I would often refer clients elsewhere for emotional support as I did not feel well-resourced. Learning and implementing the Emotional Breathing Release Technique has given me the ability to expand my knowledge, grow my practice, and most importantly, I now feel fully equipped to help clients experience freedom, calmness, and the ability to manage their emotions - powerfully. I am passionate about helping others and I am excited to have EEBRT to assist others in their journey towards optimal health!
